AfroFurnish Shipping Policy

At AfroFurnish, we are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining fairness for both buyers and sellers on our marketplace. This policy outlines how returns, refunds, and exchanges are handled.
1. General Overview
AfroFurnish is a marketplace connecting buyers with independent furniture vendors. As such, return and refund decisions are guided by both AfroFurnish standards and individual vendor policies. However, all vendors must comply with the minimum conditions stated below.
2. Eligibility for Returns
You may request a return if:
- The item delivered is damaged, defective, or broken
- You received the wrong item
- The item is significantly different from what was described or displayed
- The item has missing parts or components
3. Return Window
- Returns must be requested within 48 hours to 3 days of delivery
- Requests made outside this period may not be accepted unless under special circumstances
4. Conditions for Return
To qualify for a return:
- Item must be unused and in original condition
- Must include original packaging, tags, and accessories
- Proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation) is required
- Clear photo/video evidence must be provided for damaged or incorrect items
5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Custom-made or made-to-order furniture
- Items damaged due to misuse or improper handling
- Items altered, assembled, or installed after delivery (unless defect-related)
- Clearance or final sale items (if specified)
6. Return Process
To initiate a return:
- Log into your AfroFurnish account
- Go to My Orders
- Select the item and click Request Return
- Provide reason and upload supporting evidence
- Await confirmation from AfroFurnish or the vendor
Once approved:
- Pickup may be arranged, or
- You may be instructed to return the item to the vendor
7. Refund Policy
Refunds are processed under the following conditions:
- Returned item passes inspection
- Return request meets policy requirements
Refund Methods:
- Original payment method (card, transfer, etc.)
- Wallet credit (if applicable)
Timeline:
- Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days after approval
8. Return Shipping Costs
- If the return is due to vendor error (wrong/damaged item) -> Vendor bears cost
- If the return is for other valid reasons -> Buyer may bear return cost (if applicable)
9. Exchanges
- Exchanges are subject to product availability
- If unavailable, a full refund will be issued instead
10. Vendor Responsibility
All vendors on AfroFurnish are required to:
- Provide accurate product descriptions
- Deliver items in good condition
- Respond promptly to return requests
Failure to comply may result in penalties or removal from the platform.
11. Dispute Resolution
If there is a disagreement between buyer and vendor:
- AfroFurnish will act as a mediator
- Final decisions will be based on evidence provided by both parties
